Next painting in my toys series!
More toys on canvas...
For this painting I was semi-inspired by some impasto techniques, and the effects that can be achieved by simply applying paint to the canvas. My initial idea was to create a paint toy mix and apply that to the canvas, but I forgot about the effects of gravity, so I attached the paint smothered toys to the canvas using simply (in most cases) oil paint. In a couple areas I cheated and adhered the figures that fell off with acrylic caulking. For the most part, this is pretty much just white oil paint on canvas.

Lately my painting have taken a different direction than I had been going, still working with potato heads (or toys...) This painting is fairly large and I didn't use a brush for it. First I covered the entire canvas with 1.5 tubes of white oil paint, smeared it around with a palette knife, and then started working it with my hands. In my opinion, you cannot truly experience this painting through a photograph, but I'll let you try anyway!
For scale, in the bottom right hand corner you can see my handprint.
