Marble Floor

Our most recent assignment in watercolor was to mimic stone patterns and design a marble floor... here was mine, I'm not 100% satisfied with most areas actually, but I do like the green patch on the right... that was the last area I painted, and about the time I started figuring out the "trick"

Chair Work

After being closed again last weekend due to inclimate weather, I finally spent a "real" Saturday drawing at the park... meaning it was busy.  Here are a couple quick ones I did today.

Each drawing no more than 15 minutes...

Better Now?

**FINAL**
I've still been wrestling with some background ideas here and I have something that I like a little better...

Also I cleaned up the hairline and made some sensitive adjustments to some of the line weights...

Let me know what you think, any and all input is well appreciated! thanks!

Self Portrait - Photography

Okay, This was a hard project.  Mainly because of the concept, we were forced to think of who we are, how others see us and how we perceive ourselves.  Deep stuff, I thought so at least.  Three prints were required, one of "What we fantasize about," "How we see ourselves" and "How others see us."

I'll let you guess which image belongs to each concept...

Ignore the digital bits on the middle one, I have no idea how they got there, my apologies.

Ink Sketches

Both of these were done in class as we are experimenting with different surfaces...

glass and chrome...

Not satisfied with where I am in this media yet... I want to tighten up a little but still maintain the certain aqueous media sketch look to it... I'm working on it... Just thought I'd share my progress thus far.

Black and White Vector Art

This was completed as an assignment for my computer applications class, black and white vector illustration.  Done primarily with the pen tool creating closed paths for all the shapes.  It may or my not be 100% done yet, I'm not sure but its not due until next Thursday.  If it changes dramatically I'll post it again, and if you guys have any suggestions let me know, I'm not 100% sold on the image as a whole yet.  I'll probably toy with it a little here and there.

**EDIT**
Without Black Shape

Let me know what you think!

Back in the Saddle

And I'm a little rusty... here is one drawing that I did on Sunday, and the only picture I took.  I took it just to prove that the park opened this weekend (last weekend it did not because of predicted thunderstorms, tornadoes, and about 5 inches of snow in Atlanta).  Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to break out a little bit... plus this weekend was pretty slow...

And I had my camera in my pocket after work and saw these images, they were just interesting to me...  Thought I'd share these as well.

First "for serious" watercolor attempt

Not my first time ever touching watercolor... I did one or two paintings back in high school with them but was never too successful, and I've been working with the for a little this semester, with my Obama Stained Glass Window and such.  But that utilized just plain solid color washes and nothing really more.  This is Joe Walsh,  I'm not too familiar with him, he was suggested to me by a friend.  Point of saying that is I don't know how solid a likeness I have but I do enjoy the piece, and had fun with it!  Let me know what you think!
