Figure Painting... again.

Here are a couple more figure paintings from my current painting class.  Mostly color experiments.  The professor suggests to start with bold vivid colors, and work our way to local color.  I feel grossly incompetent with a paintbrush and almost decided not to share these.  But I understand its a learning experience... so here they are.

Hopefully I can look back on these in the future and notice improvements... thats the goal right?

I like the last one best... how long did each take you?

first two are "sketches" probably 5 minutes a piece. The last one... two class periods. Although I believe it looked better after one class period. I find I work better in an alla prima method rather than in a glaze. Example, my "in class test" post. I think it's stronger than any of my figure paintings. and my alla prima figures (from the first post) are better than this one...

what do you think? Suggestions? although, I don't know how much I can trust you... I have yet to see your paintings. Does this give you an idea for a new post one you're grossly desolate blog?
