I really want to do a decent drawing of this guy, so I decided that instead of going straight for the exaggeration this time, I would focus more on nailing the feature of his very unique face. It's not a portrait because I feel I focused on bringing out his subtleties, but the exaggerations are definitely toned down. I have a color study currently in the works, and will be sharing that with you guys hopefully tomorrow...

You definitely nailed down the likeness. I'm still feeling like your pencil strokes are showing a lot. Pencil with marker isn't a bad thing, but maybe make them fit in with the marker a bit better. I like the blue. Nice Kruger touch. Try using some reference that has a better light source. You handled it really well, but a frontal light source could be a disaster.
This one moved very quickly from sketch to rendered, really was trying to figure out what it was that made House look like House, so I relied a LOT on pencil in the beginning stages. Thats why there is a lot of pencil remaining... This one was treated very sketchy...
I'm working on a Harrison Ford one right now that I haven't touched with my black col-erase pencil, only non photo blue... so look for that one to come up, probably the first of the year, or around there...
The next two that I post I used less black col-erase, but it was still used so if you look for it you will be able to see it. but I think I'm getting better at hiding it... we'll see...
Thanks for the comments, I appreciate the feed back! And if you have any good House references, send them my way because all the ones I have been able to find that are of ANY quality, have all been using weird lighting techniques. I've been trying to find a screenshot gallery or something but no success there...
Anywho, Thanks Pat!
I think you did a great job on this. Instant recognition.
Thanks for checking out my blog. I work at Six Flags Over Texas.
You actually got me interested in drawing House myself, so I did a search on google by typing in "House MD" and "Hugh Laurie" and then clicking on "images" at the top of the page. The trick is to look at the upper left part of the page and you can select what size image you want to get. I always choose "large" and get a ton of great pics. Try it out. And look for a House MD by yours truly in the next few days on my blog.

Thanks Dan!
Awesome Pat! Look forward to seeing it! Plus thanks for the google image tip, I just wish I knew that earlier... I feel stoopid haha! My life will never be the same...
